Classless CSS stylesheet

Semantic HTML, quietly styled.

EldanCSS is a tiny, classless, opinionated stylesheet for pages that already know what they are. Write headings, paragraphs, forms, and tables the way the browser intended.

No classes. No JavaScript. Light and dark. 3.3 KB gzipped.

Field notes

Structure first. Style second.

Write the page, not the CSS.

Why

One design language, everywhere.

AI agents can write CSS, but every project lives in its own repository. Without a shared starting point, each drifts toward a different look. EldanCSS is that starting point: a single, opinionated stylesheet with a common design language. It stays small on purpose: no utility classes to memorize, no component API to learn, no build step. I built it for my own projects. If it helps but doesn't fit, fork it and make it yours.

Wesley Sinks

Classless first

Style semantic HTML directly. Add a class only when an element cannot express the component on its own.

Light and dark

One token system, resolved with light-dark(), follows the operating system or an explicit choice.

Modern CSS

Custom properties, fluid type, logical properties, and modern selectors keep the file small.

System fonts

Monospace headings and a system sans body. No webfonts, icon fonts, or reset library.

Reference

Everything you need is already an element.
